COMMITTEE BACKGROUND
The United Nations Department of Political and Peacekeeping Affairs (UNDPPA) leads the United Nation’s global efforts in conflict prevention, preventative diplomacy, and mediation. This year, the committee will be addressing the tensions in the Red Sea and the escalating conflict in Ethiopia. Delegates will debate about territorial disputes, unstable governance, and the ethics of international interference, all to decide how peace can be restored in the Horn of Africa.
